Global Citizen Year – one year to unlock a lifetime of potential
Lillie Mayfield.OHS ’13, sent an email regarding her plans for the 2013-2014 school year.
As you might have already heard, this coming year, instead of going straight to college, I will be taking a gap year with Global Citizen Year in Ecuador. For eight months, starting in September, I will be living with a local family and volunteering throughout a small community.
She has offered to keep us posted with periodic updates. It’s easy to subscribe to Lillie’s Blog.
She has a goal of $2500 to be raised for Global Citizen Year Fellows’ Fund, which will make this amazing opportunity available to future high school graduates. If you would like to help Lillie, on Sunday July 28th starting at 5 pm come by Orono United Methodist Church for a South American themed dinner fundraiser and pie sale!
