Teen Racer - July 23rd at 11 AM Emma Libby is a 15 year old sophomore at Orono High School. She will be starting her 3rd full racing season later this month. Her home track is Speedway 95 in Hermon Maine, but during weeks they are not racing she travels to Unity Raceway, Wiscasset Raceway, or Spud Speedway in Caribou. She started racing in a division designed for young drivers age 11-15 and quickly moved to an adult division during her first full season. She has been very successful the past 2 years and will be moving up to a more competitive division in the upcoming season. She works closely with Save Speed 4 The Track, an organization that focuses on teen driving safety and encourages young drivers that want to race to do safely at a racetrack, and not in a street vehicle. This sport has been great for her self esteem and confidence. She works very hard with her team to make sure they are successful both on and off the track.
